I have a very similar one in blue and I was so happy with it a year later that I decided to add another one to my collection. They are perfect for camping or the beach. I would argue that they are male friendly, and I say that only because they are a bit wider and heavier than traditional folding chairs. If you are carrying them a few feet from the car to a camp site, anyone could manage it. I would argue that if you have a bit of a walk on your hands, they could be cumbersome for a smaller person. At the end of the day, how can you go wrong with a chair that has a cooler built into the arm? It is quite similar to the lining inside of a child's lunch bag and it can easily accommodate a small ziploc bag of ice and 2-3 beers. I bought two, one for me and one for my husband. For me it works great. Comfortable, roomy, love the cooler and the pouch for books and misc. items. Unfortunately the description was misleading, to me. When I ordered these two chairs, it was mainly for my husband who is of a larger build. When the description read "oversized" I read that to be nice and wide and roomy.
